CFO

Eric Steiner has spent more than fifteen years providing financial, operational, and strategic leadership across a broad range of sectors and organizational situations. Before joining the nonprofit world, he co-founded a successful New York City shared-office startup and served as Director of Operations and Finance for a 300-employee office technology company, leading it through both expansion and pandemic-era cost-cutting.

As Chief Financial Officer of Allendale Columbia School, an independent K-12 school in Rochester, Eric led deficit-reducing efforts and modernized the organization’s core financial systems while supervising facility operations and compliance. He also brings governance experience from the other side of the table, having served on the finance committee of the Rochester Education Foundation and currently as treasurer of Congregation Beth Sholom. His expertise allows him to support nonprofits with substantial workforces, mixed earned-revenue models, or significant logistical challenges, whether they are navigating rapid growth or difficult belt-tightening.

Eric earned a Master of Public Administration from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University and a B.A. in Economics with Honors from New York University. He is a Certified Management Accountant and is based in Rochester, New York.
